Opening Night with
ROOMFUL OF TEETH

Saturday, June 29 · 8:00 pm · Music Shed

John Garrels, Gala Chair

Our 2019 Opening Night event features one of the most innovative, exciting, and fun vocal groups performing today — Grammy®-winning ensemble Roomful of Teeth. All are classically trained, and the ensemble incorporates singing techniques from around the world, including Tuvan throat-singing, yodeling, classical, and Broadway.

Featuring Norfolk alumnus Dashon Burton, the group also includes composer / singer Caroline Shaw, whose Partita for 8 Voices was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in music, and brought her, and Roomful of Teeth, international prominence.

Join us for the entire Gala Evening, or just for this exciting concert.

“Experimentation may be this group’s calling card,
but its essence is pure joy.”
